If you are  going to be having an ATV ride etc especially if you are going to take kids with you then you might have to take thiis Safety Education Course.
After  you complete the course you will immediately get a temporary license which you can print and in a few days you will get a permament license in mail.
I took this course and it was very informative and it took about 2-3 hours to complete the course and take the test.

WHILE waiting for an elevator at the Fair Oaks Mall near her home in Virginia recently, Janice Im, who works in early-childhood development, witnessed a troubling incident between a young boy and his mother.

The boy, who Ms. Im estimates was about 2 1/2 years old, made repeated attempts to talk to his mother, but she wouldn.t look up from her BlackBerry. .He.s like: .Mama? Mama? Mama?. . Ms. Im recalled. .And then he starts tapping her leg. And she goes: .Just wait a second. Just wait a second.. .

Finally, he was so frustrated, Ms. Im said, that .he goes, .Ahhh!. and tries to bite her leg..

Much of the concern about cellphones and instant  messaging and Twitter has been focused on how children who incessantly use the technology are affected by it. But parents. use of such technology . and its effect on their offspring . is now becoming an equal source of concern to some child-development researchers.

Infants who are too young to be immunized are most at risk from whooping cough, according to county officials.

"Pertussis can be prevented by vaccination and by early detection and treatment," Morrow said. "It is especially critical for parents of infants and young children to get vaccinated to protect their families, because most babies with whooping cough get it from their parents."

To raise awareness of this need, county health officials are working with local organizations, such as hospitals, schools and day care centers, to spread the word.

The vaccine adults take against whooping cough is called Tdap, and it is widely offered to women who have just given birth, Morrow said. It produces only about 10 years

of immunity against whooping cough and must be retaken to ensure a person remains protected, he said.

Children often get the vaccine before kindergarten, but its effects wear off by the time they're 10 or 12 years old, and it needs to be given again, Morrow said.

Today I read this article about cursive writing being so last century which strikes a chord for me.Ever since my toddler has graduated to Kindergarten I keep on thinking why does he need to learn cursive writing ?
Heck , I myself make so many mistakes when I'm writing with pen and paper, because now for a couple of years I exclusively use computers for everything including taking major notes.
So overall I'm in favor of getting rid of cursive writing.It is utter waste of time and adds no value.

These games are not only free as in Price but they are Free Software  which meand everyone has access to source code of these games and we can learn /read the code and modify it .

I bought this K'nex set  a couple of months ago for my 5 yr old son.He loves playing with it.
Also on the box they mention that you can mix and match the blocks with other popular brands , however I disagree because the blocks in K'nex are a little rounded and those of Legos are very sharp and pointed and  I personally don't agree that you can mix-n-match.
One of the connector broke in a couple of months.
The box contains only a few instructions for making models.In order to build all the 20 you need to download the instructions from K'nex website of  instructions @ http://www.knex.com/Multi-Model-Sets/   and using the download code 12055.

A child id kit allows partents to store vital information about their kids like fingerprints/hari sample etc.
It is very important to get a child id kit for your kids as in the event of missing a child or abduction this information is very critical for police to help finding your child.
We went to our local police station in the great mall in milpitas to get our child id kit free.
The process was very simple and the following things were done

Child was fingerprinted and the fingerprint stored on their computer.They gave us a printout of the fingerprint for our records.

The form which had fingerprints had a place to attach a photo which the police requested be changed every 2-3 years so that you have the latest photos of your child.

They took a picture of our son and stored it their database

They gave us a small ziploc to pull out one hair from the roots from our son for DNA sample

The process was pretty fast and I would encourage all parents to find a local police station which can ID their child.
